Volterra is a charismatic and interesting city, once part of the confederation of the twelve main cities of the Etruscans. The history of Volterra has no millennia. The Etruscans inhabited these lands even before the formation of the Roman Empire, later Voltaire became part of it. The stratification of Etruscan and Roman cultures left their mark on the architecture of the city. Its squares, streets, and palaces often serve as natural settings for cinema. The city served as a filming location for the beloved films "Twilight" and "Medici Lords of Florence". In Volterra, the production of artistic products made of natural stone - alabaster-is developed.
San Gimignano is a city of ancient towers, skyscrapers of the medieval period, it is often called "Medieval Manhattan". This is a very atmospheric town that conveys all the soulfulness of Tuscany. Narrow and winding streets with interesting passages, palaces and squares have come down to us unchanged since the Middle Ages. In fact, the history of San Gimignano begins with the 60s BC, when an Etruscan settlement was founded here. The natural landscapes surrounding the city from all sides add a special charm to the city. Endless vineyards, many olive trees and cypress alleys, this is how the famous Tuscan landscapes look. Local Vernaccia wine, cheeses and wild boar meat delicacies will appeal to gourmets. The tragic events of the XIII century, for a long time stopped the development of the city, and it seemed to freeze in a medieval appearance. Now it is a small, but very nice and cozy town, surrounded by amazing natural landscapes. Here, more than anywhere else, you can feel the beauty and charm of Tuscany.
